Coalition-Building and Collaboration

All MAC's projects involve collaboration with other organizations, including in some cases, coalition-building.  It is by working and joining with others that MAC can most effectively achieve its advocacy goals on behalf of children.

In the Boston School Reform Initiative, MAC collaborates with the Black Ministerial Alliance, coordinates with Boston Parents Organizing Network, convenes the Latino Education Action Network, and leads Voices for Children.

The Children's Law Support Project has an advisory board that MAC staffs, an Education Law Task Force that MAC leads and manages its listserv, and the Domestic Violence Task Force, which MAC leads.

The Autism Project has an advisory board, and MAC collaborates in the Somerville Project with a number of local agencies, including the Welcome Project, the Haitian Coalition and Greater Boston Legal Services. In its special education legislative advocacy, MAC collaborates with numerous advocacy organizations, depending on the issue, including the school superintendents association, other legal service organizations, the Federation for Children with Special Needs, and numerous parent organizations.
