Our Statement on Recent Losses in the Autism Community

Massachusetts Advocates for Children joins community members across the Commonwealth in mourning the recent loss of Anna Mburu, age 7 of Lowell, and Mohamed Fofana, age 4 of Boston.  Our thoughts are with their families, loved ones, and communities. We know that children with autism and Black and Latin(e) children are at dramatically heightened risk of death from drowning. MAC envisions a world where all children have access to the supports they need to stay safe in their community. We continue our work and hold in our memory Anna and Mohamed.
