Emily Romero Gonzalez was born in Trujillo, Peru and raised in Stamford, CT in a proudly Peruvian immigrant household. She has been involved with immigration advocacy groups since high school, with Connecticut Students for a Dream and in college, where she was Co-Director of Act on a Dream, Harvard College's student-led immigration advocacy group. She is passionate about serving undocumented, immigrant, and working-class communities.

After graduating, she was a fellow at the City of Boston Mayor's Office where she worked on special projects under the Michelle Wu administration, including digital equity projects for underrepresented communities and the city's response to Haitian refugees coming in through the border. Last year, she went abroad to Peru  to study cultural dances and explore her identity as a Peruvian undocumented immigrant raised in the United States. She hopes to continue to serve immigrant communities as Education Advocate at MAC. In her free time, Emily likes to dance, learn languages, and watch reality tv.
