Issue

District failed to provide placement and to implement IEP services (transportation to private placement was on hold pending the hiring of a nurse).

Finding

Noncompliance:

District acknowledged noncompliance due to the inability to hire a nurse given the part-time nature of the position. District agreed to provide compensatory services.

Corrective Action

(1) District must continue seeking a nurse and develop a contingency plan to ensure implementation of IEP. Efforts and plan must be submitted to DESE.

(2) District must develop a plan of compensatory services with the family by 9/15/21. If no agreement, DESE will develop a plan.
